At a meeting of the commission for the prevention of the “Corona” virus, a decision was taken to suspend land communication with Iran for two weeks.
This was written on his Facebook page by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, noting that based on the results of the meeting it was also decided to carry out freight transport with Iran without restrictions, applying a special surveillance regime for drivers, and to impose no restrictions on citizens of Armenia and Iran returning to their homeland.
In addition, according to the Prime Minister, it was decided “to remain in close communication with the government of the friendly Islamic Republic of Iran over the course of two weeks, to consolidate information regarding the scale of the spread of the ‘Corona’ virus in the IRI, in order to clarify the next steps”:
“I deem it necessary to note that there is no one infected with the Corona virus in Armenia, and I hope there will not be. Armenia has all the necessary technical and professional resources for the accurate diagnosis of the Corona infection,” wrote the leader of Armenia.
Let us recall that the commission for preventing the spread of the “Corona” virus has been operating in Armenia since January 31.
In Iran, the eighth death from the “Corona” virus has been recorded. In terms of the death toll, Iran is second in the world, after China. In total, according to Sunday’s data, 43 people infected with the “Corona” virus were receiving treatment in Iranian hospitals, and 785 were in quarantine.
