Educational reforms have never been easy in any country; it is natural that there will be noise, but it is very important that we speak about the substance. This was stated on 14 September by Mkitar Hayrapetyan, a deputy of the National Assembly’s “My Step” faction, during a conversation with journalists at the National Assembly.
In response to a question on how he assesses the work of the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, Arayik Harutyunyan, he answered: “Many forces are trying to take advantage of this situation; they have targeted my colleague and forgotten that we must speak about the substance. Arayik Harutyunyan has our faction’s full support. For our part, we will do our utmost so that healthy criticism is heard more by the government.
There are numerous discussions and issues about which we will have conversations with our colleagues in the executive, and our dispute is exclusively ideological.” This was stated by Mkitar Hayrapetyan, a deputy of the National Assembly’s “My Step” faction, during a conversation with journalists, referring to the resignation of the mandate of “My Step” deputy Arsen Julalakyan.
“There is healthy cooperation between the National Assembly and the government. Mr. Julalakyan has made a statement; I do not reserve the right to say more than he himself has said. I hope that his decision will change. Julalakyan’s departure from parliament will harm both the sector and our committee. He has been and remains one of the best in the field, a brilliant deputy.
No one will benefit if Mr. Julalakyan gives up his mandate. I have met with him and urged him to reconsider his decision.”
