Armenian military figure, Major General of the RA Armed Forces, participant in the Artsakh liberation war, and Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, Arcadia Ter-Tadevosyan, known as Komandos, has passed away.
A. Ter-Tadevosyan served in the Soviet Army in Afghanistan, Germany, Czechoslovakia, and Belarus.
Since 1988, he joined the struggle for the liberation of Artsakh and actively participated in the military training of volunteers. In 1990, he became a member of the “Sasuntsi Davit” volunteer detachment. In 1991, he was appointed head of the extra-military training department of the RA Defense Committee. On 30 October 1991, thanks to a military operation carried out under Ter-Tadevosyan’s command, the newly formed self-defense forces of Artsakh liberated the village of Togh in the Hadrut region, which was of great strategic importance.
In May 1992, he was the commander of the military operation for the liberation of Shushi.
The news of Arcadia Ter-Tadevosyan’s death was reported by Lieutenant Colonel of the RA Armed Forces, Sargis Stepanyan, noting that Komandos was his father’s comrade-in-arms.
