The United States remains open to diplomatic engagement that would allow the parties to return to the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the Iranian nuclear issue. According to a report by the TASS agency, this was stated by White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki.
“We remain committed to the continuation of the diplomatic process in order to determine next steps. Sometimes that takes time, and we understood that clearly from previous negotiations with Iran. We are ready to resume effective diplomatic engagement to achieve the return of both sides to the implementation of the nuclear program. The offer to begin discussions and engagement remains on the table,” Psaki said.
The source noted that Iran’s permanent representative to the UN earlier today made a statement emphasizing that no additional proposals are needed for a return to the nuclear deal, and that only “a political decision by Washington” is sufficient.
