After the counting of all ballots in Turkey, the final results of the presidential election have become known. As reported by RIA Novosti, the leader in the number of votes is the incumbent president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, for whom 49.24% of voters cast their ballots.
Erdogan’s main rival, Kemal Kilicdaroglu, received 45.06% of the votes. The other presidential candidate, 55-year-old Sinan Ogan from the “Ata” alliance, received 5.28% of the votes.
Muharrem Ince, the leader of the “Memleket” party, received 0.42% of the votes. The latter had withdrawn his candidacy three days before the election, but Turkey’s central electoral commission recognized the votes cast in his favor as valid.
With the results of the election held on May 14, none of the candidates received 50% of the votes, which means that the winner will be determined in the second round. The second round of the election will take place in two weeks, on May 28.
