United States Deputy Secretary of State Vedant Patel addressed the Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations mediated by the United States, during which the countries are represented by Foreign Ministers Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, during a press briefing.
“I have no updates for you. We remain committed to this process and to promoting a peaceful future in the South Caucasus. We believe that direct dialogue is key to resolving issues, but I simply do not want to get ahead of the meetings,” Patel said, declining to provide any details.
He added that a number of officials from the United States, who are deeply involved in the process, are participating in the negotiations taking place behind closed doors.
