“The visit was quite intensive. The results are very clear: both sides declared our very close relations,” Armenia’s President Armen Sarkissian, who is in that country on an official visit, told reporters, referring to the meetings held during the visit to the State of Qatar and the agreements reached.
According to him, the clear result is that there are no visas for citizens of the Republic of Armenia; tourism from Armenia to Qatar and from Qatar to Armenia will develop very quickly. “This should also open a door for businessmen to come to Qatar more quickly and comfortably, to see the opportunities, which are quite large. And conversely, Qataris should come to Armenia to see what opportunities there are for making investments,” he noted.
Armen Sarkissian said that this visit in a sense opens a new page in Armenia-Qatar relations, which has the support of Qatar and its leadership. “After returning to Yerevan, I will encourage these relations to develop very vigorously,” the president said.
