Members of the Central Board of the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party and the ADL leadership of the Western Coast of America were present on November 19 at a reception organized in Los Angeles by the Consul General of the Republic of Armenia, Ambassador Armen Baibourtian, in honor of Lilit Makunts, member of the RA National Assembly, head of the “My Step” parliamentary faction and chair of the Armenia-America Friendship Group.
Also present at the reception were community leaders, representatives of social, political and religious structures, and local officials. Welcoming the high-ranking guest, Ambassador Baibourtian underscored the importance of parliamentary diplomacy. In that context, he expressed words of appreciation for the work carried out within the framework of the Armenia-America Friendship Group and stressed that this work further promotes the Armenian-American relations, which are at the level of strategic dialogue.
Lilit Makunts presented the results of the official meetings held during her visit to the Western Coast of the United States. She emphasized that parliamentary diplomacy is one of the effective platforms for developing Armenian-American relations. “Together with the parliamentarians included in the Armenia-America Friendship Group, we come forward with very specific steps and proposals of things to be done with the aim of deepening bilateral relations,” said Lilit Makunts. The leader of the parliamentary majority also stated that relations are being deepened in various directions, from cyber security to the sphere of trade. Answering the numerous questions of those present, Lilit Makunts also presented the new realities of Armenia and the development of democratic institutions.
