On the occasion of the Artsakh independence referendum and Constitution Day, the President of the Republic of Armenia, Armen Sarkissian, congratulated the President of Artsakh, Bako Sahakyan. This was announced by the Department of Public Relations of the Office of the President of the Republic of Armenia.
“Your Excellency Mr. President,
I congratulate you on the occasion of the three-day celebration observed in the Republic of Artsakh — the Artsakh independence referendum, Constitution Day, and International Human Rights Day.
If the May triduum is the embodiment of military victories, the December triduum is the legal formulation of those victories, dating back to 10 December 1991. It bears witness to the irreversibility of the processes of establishing independent statehood and democracy in sovereign Artsakh.
The declaration of Artsakh’s independence was part of a nationwide dream; the adoption of the Artsakh Constitution was the legal enshrinement of that dream. Today, our collective will has another front for realisation — the strengthening and prosperity of a free and independent Homeland, Armenia and Artsakh. We shall continue along this path together, hand in hand, for that is the road to success and victory.
I wish you and all the people of Artsakh peace and every blessing,” reads the message of the President of the Republic of Armenia.
