Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the government session on 16 February that Armenia completed on 15 February the next round of work on the draft peace treaty and the establishment of relations with Azerbaijan, and handed it over to the Azerbaijani side.
“By proposals, we mean the full draft document with our proposals. We have also handed the document to the co-chair countries of the OSCE Minsk Group.
We are working on the document with this logic: to have a document that we are ready to sign at any moment. It is clear that the document must also be acceptable to Azerbaijan; we hope that the certain progress observed in the three rounds of negotiations so far can be developed,” the Prime Minister said at the government session.
According to Nikol Pashinyan, the document must contain a logic of understandings and an effective system of checks and balances that would exclude any scenario of undermining lasting and stable peace.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the signing of a peace treaty that would become a guarantee of lasting and stable peace. “I am ready to take on and bear such responsibility,” concluded Nikol Pashinyan.
