The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan and the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group are to meet in Geneva on 29 October.
This was stated in a declaration by the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group. They noted that on 24 October they held separate meetings in Washington with Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, and also took part in a meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers with US Deputy Secretary of State Stephen Biegun.
“During the intensive discussions, the co-chairs and the foreign ministers discussed the implementation of an immediate humanitarian ceasefire, a possible mechanism for monitoring the maintenance of the ceasefire, and the launch of discussions on the key substantive elements of a comprehensive settlement, in accordance with the joint statement of 10 October.
The foreign ministers and the co-chairs agreed to meet in Geneva on 29 October in order to discuss, reach agreement on, and begin implementing all steps necessary for the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, in accordance with the fundamental principles adopted by the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia,” the mediators’ statement said.
