President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has called for a halt to military operations in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict for humanitarian reasons. As reported on the official website of the President of the Russian Federation, on 9 October the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan have been invited to Moscow for consultations on this matter.
“Following a series of telephone conversations with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has issued a call to halt the military operations under way in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict for humanitarian reasons, so that it becomes possible to exchange prisoners and the bodies of those killed.
Through the mediation of the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan have been invited to Moscow on 9 October to hold consultations on this matter,” the Kremlin statement said.
