An Armenian conscript has crossed the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and is on the Azerbaijani side. This was reported by the RA Ministry of Defence.
“On April 23, on the way from the military unit to a combat post, contact was lost with private Eduard Arturi Martirosov, a compulsory conscript of military unit N. Search and rescue operations were launched immediately. Through the mediation of the Russian side, as a result of work carried out with representatives of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, it was established that E. Martirosov crossed the Armenian-Azerbaijani border on the same day, under still unknown circumstances, and is on the Azerbaijani side. Necessary steps are being taken to return private Martirosov to the Armenian side.
In connection with the incident, by order of the RA Minister of Defence, an official investigation has been launched,” the statement reads.
