Armenian Government to Receive 12.5 Percent of Lydian Armenia Shares

In exchange for the operation of the Amulsar gold mine, Armenia is to receive 12.5 percent of the shares of Lydian Armenia company. The information was confirmed by the Ministry of Economy. During a session of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs in the National Assembly, Economy Minister Vahan Kerobyan stated that a 250 million dollar agreement is to be signed with Lydian Armenia company. In exchange for the operation of the Amulsar gold mine, Armenia is to receive 12.5 percent of the shares of Lydian Armenia company. The information was confirmed by the Ministry of Economy.

During a session of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs in the National Assembly, Economy Minister Vahan Kerobyan stated that a 250 million dollar agreement is to be signed with Lydian Armenia company. In response to a clarifying question as to whether the government is to purchase those shares for 250 million dollars, the Ministry of Economy replied: “No, the government will not spend anything.”

The Armenian government is to sign a 250 million dollar agreement with Lydian Armenia company, which holds the operating permit for the Amulsar gold mine. A trilateral memorandum of understanding is to be signed between the Armenian government, the Eurasian Development Bank and Lydian Armenia company. The document is to be signed on behalf of the Armenian government by Economy Minister Vahan Kerobyan.
