One of the main tasks of the Armenian peacekeepers in Alma Ata is preventing the poisoning of the local water supply by terrorists. This was stated by Hayrapet Makaryan, commander of the Armenian peacekeeping unit.
“One of the main tasks at the ‘Druzhba’ reservoir is to prevent the poisoning of the water,” the commander stated. According to him, the reservoir is a strategic structure, and there was a danger that terrorists would attempt to poison it.
The Armenian peacekeepers are engaged not only in guarding the reservoir, but also ensure the security of one of the largest bread factories.
