The circumstances of a number of incidents have been clarified regarding Armenia’s Ambassador to Israel A. S. aiding the abuses permitted by the former Minister of Culture and Youth of the Republic of Armenia, as well as legalizing property obtained through criminal means by money laundering.
This was reported by the Investigative Committee, detailing that A. S., president of the “Armenian Cultural Cooperation with Foreign Countries” public organization, aided the commission of illegal acts by H. P., former Minister of Culture and Youth Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and vice-president of the aforementioned public organization. In particular, the building of historical-cultural value and the land plot it occupied were sold for 550,000 US dollars as a result of a formal transaction to a company registered offshore in the British Virgin Islands and owned by H. P.’s daughter-in-law, thereby legalizing property obtained through criminal means.
It should be noted that Armenia’s Ambassador to Israel, the aforementioned A. S., is Armen Smbatyan.
Let us recall that the Investigative Committee had earlier reported that the former Minister of Culture and Youth Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Hasmik Poghosyan, has been charged with abuse of official authority resulting in grave consequences and money laundering. A search has been declared for her.
