A ceasefire agreement has been reached through the mediation of the Russian peacekeeping forces’ command to restore the ceasefire regime along the line of contact between Armenian and Azerbaijani forces in the northeastern direction. At this moment, the aforementioned agreement is largely being implemented. The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia has issued a statement to this effect.
“During the combat operations that began as a result of the Azerbaijani provocation, small arms and mortars were used on both sides. Moreover, mortar fire was opened by units of the RA Armed Forces in response to the enemy’s use of mortars.
No change in the line of contact has taken place, and the border situation remains under the control of units of the RA Armed Forces,” the statement said.
