As of 10:30, reports are being received from civilian residents that Azerbaijani armed forces are firing toward the villages of Sotk, Kut, Azat, Norabak, Nerkin Shorzha and Verin Shorzha in the Gegharkunik Province of the Republic of Armenia. The villages of Kut and Verin Shorzha are in a particularly vulnerable situation and are the direct target of the gunfire. This was written on his Facebook page by the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan.
He, in particular, noted: “The gunfire is intense, coming from both small and large-calibre weapons.
The Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia has recorded the official statement of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia that these Azerbaijani combat attacks have political motives. Therefore, the Defender is drawing the attention of international organisations to this statement.
The facts verified by the Gegharkunik provincial subdivision of the Human Rights Defender’s office confirm that the gunfire is continuously provoked by the Azerbaijani armed forces, that this gunfire is in the immediate vicinity of the villages of the Republic of Armenia, including in the direction of the villages, has a unified intent, and violates the rights, life and peace of the civilian residents of the Republic of Armenia.”
