Within the garrison department of the Military Investigative Main Directorate of the Republic of Armenia Investigative Committee, a preliminary investigation has been conducted into a criminal case initiated under Article 360.1, Part 2, Point 3 of the RA Criminal Code.
The preliminary investigation established that on 26 July 2021, at approximately 22:26, Sargis Zhirayri Grigoryan, a conscript of the N military unit of the Artsakh Defense Army, fired a shot from his assigned AK-type rifle at his own left chest area while at a firing position, as a result of which he sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
The preliminary investigation into the criminal case is ongoing.
