The units of the Artsakh Defense Army have been given a cease-fire order. This was announced by the spokesperson of the RA Ministry of Defense, Shushan Stepanyan.
“In response to the message of the President of the Russian Federation V. V. Putin and the agreements of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan I. H. Aliyev and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia N. V. Pashinyan with the President of the Russian Federation V. V. Putin, the parties agreed on further steps:
1. A cessation of fire is declared starting from 12:00 on 10 October 2020, for the purpose of exchanging prisoners of war and other detained persons and the bodies of the deceased, through the mediation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and in accordance with its criteria.
2. The precise criteria of the cease-fire regime will be agreed upon additionally.
3. The Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia, through the mediation of the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, will undertake substantive negotiations on the basis of the fundamental principles of the settlement, with the aim of reaching a speedy peaceful settlement.
4. The parties confirm the unchanged format of the negotiation process,” stated the declaration issued following yesterday’s meeting of the foreign ministers of the RA, the RF, and Azerbaijan.
