The Artsakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a comment regarding the updated procedure for foreign citizens entering the territory of the Republic of Artsakh.
The comment states:
«Proceeding from security considerations, in the post-war conditions an updated procedure is in effect for foreign citizens entering the territory of the Republic of Artsakh. Citizens of foreign states wishing to visit the Republic of Artsakh must first apply to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh to obtain permission to enter Artsakh. This procedure applies both to foreign citizens who need an entry visa and to citizens of states for which a visa-free regime is in effect.
Information regarding applications is also conveyed to the Russian Federation peacekeeping forces, taking into account security considerations.
After the approval of applications, the foreign citizens who submitted them are informed accordingly, and they receive the corresponding entry permits in Yerevan at the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Artsakh, after which they may travel to Artsakh.
As for the timeframes, relevant work is being carried out towards improving the mechanism. The entry permit is granted within 3-4 working days; of course, sometimes the process may take longer, of which the citizen of the foreign state who submitted the application will be informed.
The mechanism is in the implementation phase. In recent days, representatives of a number of foreign media outlets and international organisations have entered the Republic of Artsakh under the said procedure».
