The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh has issued a statement regarding the organization of an event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s membership in the United Nations in Shushi.
In the statement of the Artsakh MFA, in particular, it is stated: «In keeping with its style, official Baku continues its destructive policy aimed at legitimizing the consequences of its aggression against Artsakh, attempting to involve and use the international community and various structures in this process. The latest manifestation of this policy is the organization of a solemn ceremony dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s membership in the United Nations in the occupied city of Shushi in Artsakh, and the participation of representatives of the UN and its structures in the event.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh strongly condemns the holding of such an event in Shushi.
The participation of UN representatives in an event organized in a settlement that has been one of the main targets of Azerbaijan’s aggression and Armenophobia contradicts the fundamental principles, ideology and mission of this international organization and will undoubtedly be used by Azerbaijan to legitimize its misanthropic and aggressive policy. This is also a serious blow to the authority of the UN, which will have a negative impact on the effectiveness of the organization’s work»:
