President of the Republic of Artsakh Arayik Harutyunyan met on 21 August with the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan.
President Harutyunyan wished Ararat Mirzoyan success in the important work of overcoming foreign policy challenges, stressing their vital significance from a chronological standpoint. This was reported by the office of the President of the Republic of Artsakh.
The interlocutors addressed the situation created in Artsakh and the steps being taken toward resolving the existing humanitarian and social problems, emphasising the strengthening of constant communication and cooperation between the state agencies of Armenia and Artsakh.
Arayik Harutyunyan and Ararat Mirzoyan stressed the need to resume the process of the peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict within the framework of the co-chairmanship of the OSCE Minsk Group. The importance of the recognition of the right of the people of Artsakh to live in their historic homeland and to self-determination was particularly underscored.
During the meeting, the situation created by the provocative actions of the Azerbaijani armed forces along the border of Armenia and the line of contact with Artsakh was also discussed.
