The President of the Republic of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, departed on a working visit on 1 June to the communities of Shosh and Sarushen in the Askeran district and Karmir Shuka and Taghavard in the Martuni district, the office of the President of Artsakh reports.
In the communities of Shosh, Sarushen and Taghavard, the head of state met with residents and discussed the security and socio-economic challenges and problems of the post-war period, as well as the steps to be taken to overcome them.
The head of state noted that in the coming period the volume of construction work in the communities will be increased, aimed at eliminating the consequences of the war and restoring infrastructure. According to Arayik Harutyunyan, in the current year the government of the Republic of Artsakh plans to asphalt the Karmir Shuka–Taghavard road, as well as to improve the intra-community roads of Shosh and Sarushen.
Referring to the development of the communities and the revitalisation of their economic life, Arayik Harutyunyan stressed that steps will be taken in the coming period to ensure the employment of residents.
A number of issues related to the harvest were also discussed. The President gave instructions to those responsible in the relevant bodies to organise and ensure the upcoming harvest work without loss and on time.
In the community of Karmir Shuka, Arayik Harutyunyan visited the construction site of a new residential quarter, where he familiarised himself with the progress of the installation of rapidly assembled houses.
The President was accompanied by the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of the Republic of Artsakh, Hayk Khanumyan, the head of the Askeran district administration, Armen Ghahramanyan, and the head of the Martuni district administration, Edik Avanesyan.
