Units of the Azerbaijani armed forces, starting at 00:05 midnight on 13 September, began intensely firing in the directions of Goris, Sotk and Jermuk with artillery and large-calibre firearms at Armenian positions. The news was reported by the spokesperson of the Armenian Ministry of Defence.
He noted that the adversary is also using unmanned aerial vehicles.
The situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border as of 05:00 has not changed. Positional battles are underway in certain sections of the border, stated the press secretary of the RA Ministry of Defence, Aram Torosyan.
“The adversary continues to use artillery, mortars, UAVs and large-calibre firearms in the directions of Vardenis, Sotk, Artanish, Ishkhanasar, Goris and Kapan, targeting both military and civilian infrastructure,” he said.
The spokesperson added that the RA Armed Forces are giving the necessary response and are fully carrying out the combat mission set before them. Data regarding losses on the Armenian side are being clarified.
“The entire responsibility for the created situation and its further developments rests with the military-political leadership of Azerbaijan,” Torosyan stated.
