Azerbaijan’s armed forces, once again violating the obligations assumed under the November 9, 2020 trilateral statement, breached the line of contact established by that same document on March 25 in the Shushi-Lisagor section and secured certain positional advances on the territory of the Republic of Artsakh.

This was reported by the Artsakh Information Headquarters.

“The authorities of the Republic of Artsakh immediately informed the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent of yet another gross violation of the provisions of the trilateral statement, taking into account the mission and functions they assumed under that document. The authorities expect the peacekeeping contingent to take practical steps to eliminate the consequences of this violation and prevent new ones.

The Azerbaijani side’s false claim about the alleged use of the Stepanakert-Ghaybalishen-Lisagor mountain road for the transport of ammunition is simply a pretext for carrying out their latest aggressive (offensive) and destructive actions. Using that same claim, on March 5 they attacked and killed three police officers performing their duties and wounded one more.

The Artsakh authorities have repeatedly stated that under the conditions of the blockade that began on December 12, this mountain road is used to organise civil and urgent communication between Stepanakert and four communities of the Shushi district, which is carried out with high-clearance vehicles, taking into account the extremely difficult and dangerous terrain of the area.

And the existence and normal functioning of the Defense Army poses no threat to anyone, as it is intended exclusively for self-defense, given the real and immediate dangers and threats directed against the physical existence and security of the people of Artsakh”:
