“On 25 March 2023, a unit of the Azerbaijani armed forces, violating the first point of the 9 November 2020 statement of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and the President of the Russian Federation, crossed the line of contact in the Shushi district, occupied height 2054.0 (2.9 km north-east of Saribaba mountain) and began the engineering preparation of the position,” stated the information bulletin of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh.
It was noted that the command of the Russian peacekeepers is taking measures aimed at preventing the escalation of the crisis situation and “not allowing mutual provocations by the conflicting parties.”
“The Azerbaijani side has been informed of the need to take measures to comply with the provisions of the trilateral agreements of the heads of state, to stop the engineering work and to withdraw units of the national armed forces from previously occupied positions,” stated the announcement of the Russian Defense Ministry.
One violation of the ceasefire regime was also recorded in the Martuni district of Karabakh. There are no casualties. The forces of the Russian peacekeeping contingent are investigating this fact.
Patrols were carried out along three routes in the Shushi, Martuni and Martakert districts, the report stated.
