Armenia must negotiate “in good faith” to reach a peace treaty — this is what Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ayhan Hajizadeh wrote in response to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s “tweet”.

This was reported by Azerbaijani media outlets.

“Respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty must prevail in our region, and any escalation must be resolved on the basis of international law standards and principles. The international community supports this narrative,” the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesperson wrote in response.

It should be noted that earlier Pashinyan had written on his Twitter page that there will be a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and that it will be based on joint official statements adopted at the highest level.

“There will be no new escalation; the international community must decisively support this narrative,” Pashinyan wrote.
