Before the Pashinyan-Aliyev meeting, who needs and which side benefits from dividing Armenian society, deepening the government-opposition divide, stirring up Armenia’s domestic political field, and creating problems for the Armenian authorities?
Deputy Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister’s Office Taron Chakhoyan made this indirect inquiry on his Facebook page, referring to the rally called by the parliamentary opposition.
«1) The Prime Minister of Armenia is speaking before the world about Azerbaijan’s efforts to legitimize a large-scale attack, while the parliamentary opposition announces a rally.
2) The Prime Minister of Armenia speaks of Azerbaijan’s aims to provoke regional escalation, while the parliamentary opposition announces a rally.
3) The Prime Minister of Armenia speaks of the ethnic cleansing being carried out by Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh, while the parliamentary opposition announces a rally.
4) The Prime Minister of Armenia speaks of the humanitarian catastrophe created by Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh, while the parliamentary opposition announces a rally.
Incidentally, the date of the rally — April 5 — was not chosen by chance, since the following day, April 6, the Pashinyan-Aliyev meeting is scheduled in Brussels.
Now the question
Before the Pashinyan-Aliyev meeting, who needs and which side benefits from dividing Armenian society, deepening the government-opposition divide, stirring up Armenia’s domestic political field, and creating problems for the Armenian authorities?
The answer is unequivocal: only Azerbaijan, and those who, behind our backs, are plotting with Azerbaijan against Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.
And so, whose interests does the parliamentary opposition serve? Certainly not Armenia’s, nor Nagorno-Karabakh’s. The parliamentary opposition continues to serve foreign interests, hoping to achieve a change of government in Armenia and receive at least a crumb in return.»
