Servicemen of the Russian Southern Military District’s (SMD) military base deployed in Armenia, together with servicemen of Armenia’s Ministry of Defense, have conducted marches to the Kamkhut and Alagyaz training grounds as part of bilateral battalion tactical exercises.
Servicemen of motorized rifle, artillery, engineering, and reconnaissance units will carry out defensive and offensive operations within reconnaissance-strike (fire) complexes, with the support of artillery, air defense systems, and field-strategic and army aviation.
During the exercises and the conduct of fire engagement of the simulated enemy’s forces and assets, control over the units’ operations will be carried out by unmanned aerial vehicle crews.
During the exercises, servicemen will perform qualification driving drills with armored vehicles during daytime and nighttime hours, live firing with small arms, grenade launchers, and the armament of infantry fighting vehicles, artillery pieces, and anti-aircraft missile systems.
Approximately one thousand servicemen of the Southern Military District are participating in the bilateral battalion tactical exercise, with about 300 units of special military equipment deployed, including fighter, army, and unmanned aircraft.
