The natural population growth in Armenia in the first month of 2023 was 742. This was announced by the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
In January, 3,229 children were born in Armenia, which is 12.6 percent more than the number of births in January of the previous year, and 13.2 percent more than the January 2021 figure.
In January of this year, the number of deaths decreased. In January 2023, 2,487 people died, which is 10.8 percent fewer compared to January of the previous year, and 17.5 percent fewer compared to January 2021.
The number of stillbirths in January was 29. For comparison, in January 2022 that number was 30, and in January 2021 it was 39.
Natural growth in January 2023 was 742, increasing 9.4 times compared to January 2022.
