Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that the Russian Federation is calling for a ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh as soon as possible.
“But, in any case, we urge, and I want to say this again, we call for a ceasefire, and it must happen as soon as possible,” he said during an interview with the “Rossiya 24” television channel.
According to the Russian President, Armenia’s leadership has no questions regarding the fulfilment of allied obligations with Russia.
“Armenia is a member of the CSTO, and we have certain obligations towards Armenia within the framework of that treaty. But military operations, unfortunately, continue to this day. They are taking place outside the territory of Armenia,” Putin said, adding that there can be no doubt about Russia’s fulfilment of its treaty obligations within the framework of that agreement.
“We have always fulfilled, we fulfil, and we shall fulfil our obligations,” he said, noting that he is in constant working contact with Armenia’s Prime Minister. “Armenia’s leadership has no questions regarding the quality of Russia’s fulfilment of its allied obligations,” the Russian President said.
