At a meeting of the Operational (rapid response) Staff held today, 3 January, under the leadership of Artsakh Republic’s State Minister and Chief of the Operational Staff, Ruben Vardanyan, issues related to ensuring the population’s livelihood and primary needs under the ongoing blockade of Artsakh by Azerbaijan were discussed.
As reported by the Artsakh Information Staff, the State Minister was briefed on the current situation in the markets for food products, medicines, gasoline and fuel, and the problems were presented.
It was noted that, to ensure the population’s primary needs, the supply of certain goods from the state reserve will be carried out to shops. The State Minister emphasized the proportionate distribution of goods so that the population has the opportunity to purchase them from all shops.
In the current situation, Ruben Vardanyan also stressed the importance of direct communication with the population and instructed a group of Operational Staff members, together with National Assembly deputies, to hold meetings in regions and communities to inform the population about the situation, the steps and measures being implemented by the Artsakh authorities and the Operational Staff.
“It is important that the population learns first-hand about both the situation and the work being done. This will help them better understand the situation and, if necessary, participate in solving problems, as well as not succumb to Azerbaijani disinformation,” emphasized Ruben Vardanyan.
