The regular 50th (30th) General Delegate Assembly of the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party convened in the capital city of Yerevan, on May 29-31, 2026.
Authorized representatives of the ADL’s worldwide chapters participated in this supreme legislative assembly. At the conclusion of its three-day proceedings, the Assembly reached a series of decisions on important issues directly concerning the Armenian people and the ADL.
In this regard, the following communiqué is published:
- The unshakable creed, and therefore the core objective, of the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party is the unconditional and devoted service to the Armenian people and our sacred homeland. Consequently, the Party emphatically reaffirms that the foremost and fundamental preoccupations are the security of our people and the inviolability of our homeland’s borders, having as its supreme aspiration the lasting enjoyment by our compatriot sisters and brothers of a sovereign, democratic, tranquil, prosperous and dignified life, as well as the absolute and undeniable right to live in an environment of equality and free of corruption. To that end, the ADL, as always, expresses its unconditional support for the homeland’s statehood, in the service of its strengthening and endurance, declaring anew that it shall spare no effort in continually supporting the prosperity of all spheres of the homeland, but especially the ever-growing strengthening of the Armenian army.
- The Armenian Apostolic Church, for more than 1700 years and especially for centuries, when we were deprived of statehood, has served our people not only as a trusted spiritual leader, but has also been an inexhaustible source of inspiration of faith and hope for the future, of unity and patriotism, as well as the irreplaceable guarantor of our national values and the preservation of Armenian identity. Now, however, when we are, at last, blessed with a democratic republic with a multi-party system, it would be highly beneficial for the Armenian Apostolic Church to focus entirely on its sacred mission of spiritual leadership ONLY. The Armenian Democratic Liberal Party, proceeding from the supreme interests of our people, aspires and expects that the current extremely unpleasant situation will promptly reach its logical and most just resolution. The ADL also warmly desires that the regulations and status of the Armenian Apostolic Church undergo all necessary reforms, thanks to which our Church can, without doubt, be transformed into an unshakable pillar of faith, hope and love, directly attuned to all the contemporary sentiments of our people, enjoying nationwide respect and trust.
- The ADL, with deep conviction and renewed determination, continues to remain a faithful adherent of the sacred mission of pursuing the Armenian Cause. To that end, the Party’s efforts, stemming from its steadfast and realistic programs, clearly strive not only to achieve the unanimous recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide by the international community, but also the full restoration of all our national rights, including the undeniable rights of the Armenians of Artsakh. It is fully understandable that, at the behest of various known factors, the Republic of Armenia makes and will continue to make decisions in this direction, taking into account certain circumstances. The Armenian Diaspora, however, is not subject to any limitation or restriction. Therefore, it is the firm conviction of the ADL that, with a coordinated strategy, the desired results can be achieved.
- For the Republic of Armenia, the Armenians of the Diaspora are an irreplaceable wealth, the majority of whom, with unreserved love, boundless compassion and affection, embrace the mother homeland, the compatriot people living there, and absolutely everything connected with their present and future. The multifaceted and consistently stable support that the Armenian Diaspora has provided and will provide is the most authentic guarantee for our homeland. And in order to keep the Armenians abroad active and vibrant, it is necessary to consistently seek and implement ever-changing and productive methods of preserving Armenian identity and inspiring national pride. As in the previous one hundred and fifty years, among the ADL’s main preoccupations and commitments are the sacred works of preserving the nation, as well as noble and unblemished national education.
- It is beyond any doubt that, probably more than ever, it is vitally necessary for us today to ensure complete national unity. It is urgently necessary that we unite as a nation, so that we may overcome all kinds of threats and calamities facing us. Therefore, for the resolution of any pan-Armenian issue, the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party is fully prepared to cooperate with any organization or structure in the homeland or abroad that shares the same concerns.
- The ADL appreciates the various programs implemented by the homeland’s authorities, which aim to inspire genuine hope and faith in the bright and stable future of our country. To that end, it expresses its unconditional willingness, with all means at its disposal, to support every nation-building initiative. And it is the firm conviction of the ADL that, in the soon-to-be-held National Assembly elections, the fair and untainted vote of our people will ensure the most worthy candidates, who have, in fact, earned the trust and respect of our compatriots in the homeland.
- Appreciating the outgoing ADL Central Board and all its activities during the past three years, the ADL Delegate Assembly concluded its work by electing the Party’s new Central Board.
This historic session was concluded with the renewal of the sacred, nation-devoted covenant to which the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party is pledged, once again greeting all the Party’s members and supporters without exception, and cordially greeting the homeland and all Armenians.
