On the morning of April 25, after a brief stay in the hospital, colleague Shnorhig Janjanyan-Minasyan passed away.

She was born in Beirut in 1934. She attended and graduated from the Apkaryan School in the Andranik district of Trad.

In 1961 she married Krikor Minasyan and together they had four sons — Garo, Vache, Hrach and Shahe — who attended the Hovagimian-Manoukian secondary school of the AGBU in Beirut before continuing and completing their university studies. In time, she was blessed with eight grandchildren.

In 1987, as a result of the Lebanese civil war, the Minasyan family moved to America and settled in the state of New Jersey.

During her years in Beirut, Shnorhig joined the ranks of the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party and for years was a member of the board of the ADL Shoushanig Club. After settling in New Jersey, she actively participated in the local ADL structure, and for years worked with great dedication in the Tekeyan Cultural Association, as an active board member of the TCA Mher Mkrtchyan theatrical committee, of which she was one of the founders. At the same time, she actively participated in the activities of St. Thomas Church in Tenafly, being a member of the choir of the altar servers and serving at the Krikorian Saturday Armenian school as a beloved teacher of children.

Shnorhig Minasyan embodied the model of an exemplary mother, grandmother and patriotic Armenian woman. Her family members, relatives, students, friends and acquaintances will always remember her as a devoted, hardworking and hospitable Armenian woman.

We extend our condolences to her children, grandchildren and relatives. May God illuminate the soul of our dear colleague.
