As already reported by the RA Ministry of Defense, starting from 23:00 on 29 July, attempts by UAVs to enter the airspace of the Republic of Armenia were recorded in the Gegharkunik section of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. Thanks to the actions of the air defense units of the RA Armed Forces, all attempts were thwarted.
“In particular, an ‘Aerostar’ type UAV in the arsenal of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces was shot down, the debris of which fell 3.5 kilometers north of the village of Vanevan in the Gegharkunik region.
We once again call on Armenian media outlets and users of social networks not to spread unverified, let alone obviously distorted and panic-inducing information, and to be guided by the official statements of the defense department.
The RA Armed Forces are fully fulfilling the tasks set before them,” the statement read.
