As a result of damage to the main gas pipeline coming from the Republic of Armenia to Artsakh, the entire territory of Artsakh has been deprived of gas supply.
The Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Artsakh, Gegham Stepanyan, informed about this on his Facebook page.
As a result of studies conducted by the staff of the Artsakh Human Rights Defender and discussions with law enforcement bodies, it has been established that the gas pipeline was damaged in the section that is under the control of the Azerbaijani armed forces.
Specialists of the “Artsakhgaz” CJSC and law enforcement bodies cannot clearly state whether the accident occurred due to technical reasons or as a result of the actions of the Azerbaijani side, the reason being that the Azerbaijani side is obstructing the access of both Artsakh law enforcement officials and specialists of the gas supply company to the site of the accident.
Representatives of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Artsakh have been informed about the accident and the gas supply problem, and negotiations are being conducted on their part to begin restoration works.
Obstructing the restoration of gas supply is proof of the Azerbaijani side’s intention to create problems in the humanitarian sphere in Artsakh and to disrupt normal life.
