The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia has released new details regarding the incident on August 19, when the bodies of 3 Armenian servicemen were found at a combat position.
In response to rumors circulating in the press about an infiltration, the RA Ministry of Defense’s Department of Information and Public Affairs told Armenpress that, in order to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident, all necessary operations are currently underway to their full extent.
“Nevertheless, at least according to the preliminary information available at this time, what happened has no connection with the adversary. As soon as new information becomes available, the Ministry of Defense will issue appropriate statements,” read the response provided to Armenpress.
According to the RA Investigative Committee, on suspicion of unlawfully and intentionally depriving the aforementioned 3 servicemen of life, their fellow serviceman, A.H., a conscript in compulsory military service from the same military unit, has been arrested.
The preliminary investigation of the criminal case is ongoing.
