“The British government, including during our mediation in the OSCE in Vienna, has made clear that armed forces must withdraw to the positions they held before the start of military operations. Diplomacy is the only way to resolve the crisis,” stated the British Embassy in the Republic of Armenia in a message responding to an inquiry from “Lurer” regarding Azerbaijan’s latest attack.
“We have always condemned the targeting of civilian areas during all crises. Our thoughts are with the families of those killed or wounded as a result of the latest violence.
“The British government welcomes the return of prisoners of war and the remains of the dead. We call on the parties to discuss the return of all remaining prisoners of war and the remains of the dead. Reports of torture are extremely concerning and require a thorough investigation by the relevant bodies,” stated the message from the British Embassy in Yerevan.
