The Government of the Republic of Armenia is to nominate Vahram Avetisyan as a candidate for judge of the Constitutional Court.
The matter was included in the agenda of today’s government session, and the Government confirmed Vahram Avetisyan’s candidacy for the position of Constitutional Court judge.
At the government session, the candidate noted that as a Constitutional Court judge, he must ensure the independence, depoliticization, and impartiality of the Constitutional Court judge.
“Taking into account the realities created in our country, the role of the Constitutional Court in the development of democracy must be ensured. Democratic values are not classifications; they undergo transformation, and the Constitutional Court, having as its foundation the rights and freedoms of the individual, must act in parallel with them, ensuring the harmonious functioning of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of power,” said the candidate.
The Prime Minister wished the candidate success in the National Assembly discussions and, after being elected, also in the status of Constitutional Court judge.
