At the 20th annual general meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Tekeyan Center Foundation, held recently in Cyprus, it was decided to confer the title of Honorary Life President of the Tekeyan Center Foundation upon Vartan Ouzounian, a benefactor widely known in the Diaspora and the Homeland, recipient of the Saint Nerses Shnorhali Order and the Komitas Medal, founding member of the Tekeyan Center Foundation and long-serving president of its Board of Trustees, and honorary member of the ADL Central Board, in recognition of his many years of devoted national service and great accomplishments.
By another decision of the same meeting, Shahe Ouzounian, a recognised businessman and benefactor of the Diaspora, continuer of family traditions and devotee of the cause, was elected acting president of the Tekeyan Center Foundation.
According to the Center, the Tekeyan Center Foundation is ready to continue constructive cooperation with Armenian and Diaspora institutions and traditional partners, for the benefit of the Armenian nation and our homeland.
On this occasion, we warmly congratulate Vartan Ouzounian, one of the ADL’s most devoted leaders of many years and a major contributor within the TMA circle, and wish him long and healthy years.
We also congratulate Mr. Shahe Ouzounian on his election as acting president of the Tekeyan Center Foundation, wishing him continued success in carrying forward his father’s mission with the same vigour and determination.
