To prevent the spread of new panic-inducing actions by the Azerbaijani authorities, I call on our compatriots in Artsakh to remove or close phone numbers, addresses and other personal data from their social media pages. I urge you not to answer any suspicious calls received through social media, wrote Armenia’s Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan on his page.
The Azerbaijani authorities have begun new organized acts of intimidation and panic-inducement against the civilian population of Artsakh.
The basis for this escalation is the recent statements of the Human Rights Defender of Artsakh and the law enforcement bodies of Artsakh, as well as the studies and alarms raised by the Human Rights Defender of Armenia.
In particular, calls are being made in an organized manner from Azerbaijani phone numbers to the phone numbers of people living in Artsakh, offering to buy their apartments and shops. They also obtain personal data from people’s social media pages. Moreover, certain pages have become active on the “Facebook” social network, which also aim to exert psychological pressure on people living in Artsakh.
The Human Rights Defender of Armenia draws the attention of the international community to this new dangerous policy of the Azerbaijani authorities.
