Congressman Adam Schiff has called on the United States to recognize the independence of the Republic of Artsakh.
“It has been nearly a month since Azerbaijan and Turkey unleashed war against Artsakh, bombing civilians and churches and committing war crimes. Dozens of civilians have been killed. More than half of Artsakh’s civilian population has been displaced. I officially call on the U.S. to recognize the independence of the Republic of Artsakh,” the congressman wrote on his Twitter page.
Schiff noted that history must not be allowed to repeat itself.
“If Azerbaijan and Turkey have decided to wage war, the U.S., the Minsk Group and the international community must clearly declare that they will not achieve their goals. Aliyev and Erdogan must be made to understand that if they continue this war, there will be consequences. The U.S. cannot remain indifferent to all this.
I stand with Armenia, I stand with Artsakh,” wrote Adam Schiff.
