As in the whole world, so too in Armenia the epidemiological situation of the coronavirus continues to remain tense, the Ministry of Health informs.
As of 18 March 2021, 181,165 cases have been recorded in the Republic of Armenia, of which 9,830 (5.4%) are receiving treatment, 167,186 (92.3%) persons have recovered, 3,301 cases have resulted in death, and the mortality rate stands at 1.8%.
During the last 14 days, 7,858 cases of the disease have been recorded, which is an increase of 125% compared to the previous same period (3,487 cases).
The infection reproduction rate (calculated over 7 days) as of 16.03.2021 stood at 1.48, which means that if the safety rules are not observed by both the population and economic entities, in particular the wearing of masks in open and closed spaces, the disinfection or washing of hands with soap, as well as the maintenance of social distance of at least 1.5 metres, then in the coming 7 days around 6,820 new cases of the disease will be recorded, which constitutes approximately 69% of those currently receiving treatment.
Particular attention should be paid to the identification of those who have been in contact with confirmed cases of the coronavirus in closed organisations and to the observance of the requirements set by the Minister of Health’s order No. 17-N, in particular, for that purpose work is organised remotely for a period of 14 days, and in case of impossibility, on a shift basis, and in case of that impossibility, changes are made to working conditions in the workplace with the aim of excluding or minimising contact with other workers.
