The Office of the Representative of Armenia on International Legal Matters transmitted a letter on 19 September in the name of Armenia to the International Court of Justice (The Hague), regarding Azerbaijan’s continued violations of the court’s relevant decision, presenting evidence of violence by Azerbaijan against Armenian prisoners of war and the desecration of the bodies of fallen Armenian soldiers.
The Office of the Representative of Armenia on International Legal Matters issued a communiqué stating the following.
«On 19 September, the Office of the Representative of Armenia on International Legal Matters transmitted to the International Court of Justice a letter in the name of Armenia regarding the continued violations of the court’s decision of 7 December 2021 on the application of interim measures in the case of Armenia v. Azerbaijan, examined within the framework of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, presenting further evidence of violence by Azerbaijan against Armenian prisoners of war and the desecration of fallen Armenian servicemen, including information about Armenian prisoner of war Davit Gishyan, who was subjected to torture and killed under Azerbaijan’s control. The Office of the Representative of Armenia also presented to the court illustrative examples of widespread anti-Armenian hatred in Azerbaijan, reiterating its urgent request that the court amend its decision on the application of interim measures»:
