The nationwide rally held on 25 December in Renaissance Square in Stepanakert, capital of the Republic of Artsakh, has drawn the attention of a number of leading international media outlets.
The rally was covered by a correspondent of the Agence France Presse (AFP) agency. The article was distributed by France 24, Digital Journal, Channel News Asia and RFI.
The article’s author briefly presented the situation prevailing between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the two-week-long blockade of the people of Artsakh.
Citing the Armenian government, the article’s author noted that following the blockade of the Lachin corridor, shortages of food, medicine and fuel have arisen in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The AFP correspondent spoke with Donara Gabrielyan, a 70-year-old resident of Stepanakert, who stressed that through the Lachin corridor Artsakh is connected not only to Armenia. “This is the only road that connects Artsakh to the rest of the world, not only Armenia, because we are connected to the world through Armenia,” said Donara Gabrielyan.
The TASS news agency also covered yesterday’s rally in Stepanakert. The outlet likewise presented the blockade of the Lachin corridor over the past two weeks and the statements of both sides in that regard.
