Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan has signed a decree according to which Lieutenant General Jalal Anatoli Harutyunyan has been relieved of his post as Minister of Defense of the Republic of Artsakh — Commander of the Defense Army.
By another decree, Major General Mikael Alberti Arzumanyan has been appointed Minister of Defense of the Republic of Artsakh — Commander of the Defense Army, and has been awarded the military rank of Lieutenant General.
“The decision to relieve Jalal Harutyunyan is an imperative of the moment, conditioned by the wound he received at his combat post in recent days, and should not give rise to misinterpretations.
I wish a speedy recovery to Jalal Anatoli and am confident that he will very soon return to the service of the homeland.
I am confident that Mikael Arzumanyan is aware of the degree of responsibility of his new post and will spare no effort and energy to justify that trust,” noted the President of Artsakh.
