On 14 May, at the initiative of the Russian side, Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan had a telephone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. This was reported by the information service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry.
The heads of the foreign policy departments of Armenia and Russia discussed issues related to the bilateral agenda, as well as cooperation within the framework of regional structures — the CIS, the EAEU and the CSTO.
Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Sergey Lavrov touched upon the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process. In the context of addressing issues caused by the novel coronavirus, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan deemed important the unconditional commitment of all parties to the conflict to the provisions of the five-party statement adopted on 21 April with the participation and mediation of the Minsk Group co-chairs.
