Russian Federation Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has stated that Russia’s military cooperation with Armenia is quite close. According to Armenpress, as reported by Regionmonitor, Lavrov said this at a press conference summarizing the results of the Collective Security Treaty Organization’s Council of Foreign Ministers meeting.
“We assess the relations as allied. This applies both to the CSTO framework and to our bilateral relations. Military cooperation is quite close,” Lavrov said.
The Russian foreign minister added that there is a Russian military base in Armenia that supports the maintenance of stability and security in the region.
“As for military-technical cooperation that we demonstrate with the Republic of Armenia, quite close and effective work is also underway here,” the minister noted.
Sergei Lavrov noted that this work is constant, daily and professional, and no questions arise in this regard.
