Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan had a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron at the latter’s initiative. This was reported by the Department of Information and Public Relations of the Prime Minister’s Office.
The leaders of Armenia and France discussed the situation created as a result of the incursion of Azerbaijani armed forces into the sovereign territory of Armenia in the Syunik Province, and the steps to resolve it.
The President of France expressed his support to the Armenian authorities and the Armenian people in terms of resolving the issue peacefully. Macron reaffirmed France’s commitment to the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia and stressed the need for the immediate withdrawal of Azerbaijani armed forces from the territory of Armenia.
Nikol Pashinyan expressed gratitude to the President of France for the constant attention shown to Armenia and the Armenian people and for expressing a friendly attitude.
Macron stressed that France is ready to continue to contribute to the resolution of the challenges facing Armenia, its development and progress.
